Set up a new client from start to finish

Add the client, give them a color, attach a brand kit and see all their work in one place.

1 min read

Do this once per client. Afterwards every project you tag with them is easy to find and easy to report on.

  1. Open Settings then Clients & collaborators

Type the Name, the Organization if there is one, and choose a Relationship. See Manage clients and collaborators.

  2. Pick a Color

Then choose Add contact. Contacts never need an account and are never emailed.

  3. Make projects use client colors

In Settings then Workspace, choose Color projects on the calendar and board by and pick Client. See Edit labels, item types and the color scheme.

  4. Create a brand kit

In Settings then Brand kits, choose New brand kit, add the colors and tick it for this contact. Their kit appears inside every project that names them. See Create and use brand kits.

  5. Tag the client on a project

In New project, use the Client or requester list. See Create a project.

  6. Find all their work later
  7. Report on their hours

On Time, open Team hours and set Client. See See team hours and totals.

Tip

If you work with a lot of clients, give each a different color so the calendar reads at a glance.
