Plan with the Workload view

See who has room and who is stretched over the coming weeks.

Studio plan and above1 min read
Workload.

Zoom in on each part

  1. Workload sub-tab
  2. Rates & capacity sub-tab, where hours per week are set
  1. Give projects an Estimated hours value

Open a project, then Hours. This is optional, and projects without an estimate are listed under “Not in the plan yet”.

  2. Set Hours per week for each person
  3. Open Time, then Workload
  4. Use Earlier, This week and Later

Each column is a week. A person’s box shows planned hours, a Has room or Over capacity tag and a bar. Hours already logged appear under it.

How the numbers are worked out#

Each open project’s remaining hours (its estimate minus time already logged on it) are spread evenly over the weekdays from today, or from its start date if that is later, to its due date. A project past its due date counts against this week. Hours are placed on the person assigned to the project.

Good to know

Workload is a planning aid, not a promise. It is only as good as the estimates and capacity you enter.
