Run a 20-minute weekly planning review

A repeatable routine that uses the Calendar, Board, Dashboard and Activity tabs.

1 min read

A short, steady review keeps work from slipping. This routine takes about twenty minutes and needs no preparation.

  1. Open the Dashboard and look at Overdue

Anything late is the first thing to discuss. Choose Open beside an item to read it. See The Dashboard tab, explained.

  2. Switch to the Board and scan the In review column

These are the projects waiting on someone. Add a comment and @mention the person who is holding it up. See The Board tab, explained and Comment on a project and @mention a teammate.

  3. Move finished work to Done

Drag a card, or change its Status in the project window. See Change a project’s status.

  4. Open the Calendar in Week view

Look at the coming week. Drag anything that has moved to its new day. See Switch between month and week view and Reschedule by dragging.

  5. Check the Activity tab for Mentions

Reply to anything you were tagged in. See Find where you were tagged.

  6. Turn the best new ideas into projects

On IdeaLine, open any idea that reached Shortlisted or Active and choose Promote to project. See Promote an idea to a project.

Tip

Use the same day and time every week. A review people can predict is a review people attend.
