Set up a new workspace: a checklist for owners and admins
The order that makes setup fast: name, statuses, labels, people, roles, clients and brand kits.
You can finish the basics in about twenty minutes. Do these in order, because later steps use choices from earlier ones.
- Name the workspace and add a logo
Settings, then Workspace. See Workspace settings: name, logo and defaults.
- Make the statuses match how your team works
Rename, reorder or add statuses and mark which ones count as done. See Edit board statuses.
- Review labels, item types and custom fields
These keep projects easy to find and filter. See Edit labels, item types and the color scheme and Create custom fields.
- Invite your team
Add each person with a role. See Add a person to your workspace.
- Check what each role can do
Open Roles & permissions and rename roles or adjust access to fit. See Roles and permissions.
- Add your clients and partners as contacts
Contacts do not use seats and never get emails. See Manage clients and collaborators.
- Create a brand kit for each brand
Keep colors, logo links and fonts in one place. See Create and use brand kits.
- Turn on two-step sign-in for yourself
Two-step sign-in will be required for everyone, so start with your own account. See Two-step sign-in with an authenticator app.
- Choose how often to get a backup reminder
IdeaLine applies a plan-based limit to people, active ideas and brand kits. See Plan features and limits at a glance for the numbers.
