Welcome to IdeaLine

What IdeaLine does, who it is for and the five things to try first.

2 min read

IdeaLine is project management and content planning for small marketing and communications teams. It puts your calendar, your board, your files and your early ideas in one workspace, so everyone sees the same plan.

What you can do#

  • Plan on a calendar. Every project with a due date appears on the Calendar. Drag a project to a new day to reschedule it.
  • Run the work on a board. The Board shows the same projects by status: Backlog, In progress, In review and Done. You can rename and add statuses.
  • Keep your files in place. The Repository stores links to files in Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive or Box. The files stay where they are.
  • Grow ideas. IdeaLine is where a rough thought becomes a project, one step at a time.
  • Track time. On the Team plan and above, Time lets people log hours and lets admins see billable totals.
  • See what changed. Dashboard and Activity show progress, history and who tagged you.

Five things to try first#

  1. Sign in

Use the invitation email to choose a password, then sign in. See Accept your invitation and sign in for the first time.

  2. Take the screen tour

Learn what each part of the header and the tabs do. See A tour of the screen.

  3. Create a project

Add one real project with a due date and watch it appear on the calendar and the board. See Create a project.

  4. Capture an idea

Type a thought into the IdeaLine tab. See Capture an idea.

  5. Switch on night mode if you like

Use the moon button in the header. See Switch to night mode.

Good to know

IdeaLine is by invitation. If you do not have a workspace yet, Request access and we will set one up for your team.

How this help center is organized#

Use the list on the left to browse by topic, or press into the search box and type what you want to do, for example “change my password” or “download calendar”. Every article has numbered steps. Screenshots use a sample workspace, so the names and dates in them are made up.
