Add Repository content to a client review

Choose which files belong to an approval and which of them the client may see.

Team plan and above1 min read

Files stay in your own cloud storage. IdeaLine only keeps the link and title. For each review link you decide two things per file: is it Relevant to this approval, and Client can see it.

  1. Open the project and choose Copy link to project
  2. Open Content for this review

It lists your Repository items. Files already linked to the project start ticked as Relevant.

  3. Tick Relevant for each file that belongs to this approval

Relevant files are kept with the review for your team.

  4. Tick Client can see for files the client should open

It only turns on for relevant files. Unticked files stay internal and the client never sees them.

  5. Create the link

Up to 25 files per link. Only secure (https) file links are shown to clients.

What the client sees#

A Files to review list with each title that opens in a new tab on the site where the file is stored. The files are also written into the approval record, so you can show exactly what was on offer when they approved.

Check the file’s own sharing#

Good to know

IdeaLine does not host the file. Whoever has the file link can open it, and your storage service decides if they must sign in. Make sure each client-visible file is shared the way you intend before you send the link. Revoking the review link stops the client page, but not the file’s own sharing.

To see which files a link carries, open the project and look under Client review, Content on active review links.
