Get an email when a task is completed

An opt-in setting that emails you each time work you are part of is marked done.

1 min read

Every task completion is already recorded in the activity feed and the bell. If you also want it by email, switch it on. It is off until you choose it, and it only applies to you.

  1. Open Settings and choose Notifications
  2. Tick Email me when a task is completed on projects I am part of
  3. Choose Save

From now on you get one email each time someone else completes a subtask, or marks a whole project done, on work you lead, created or were assigned.

You are not emailed about things you complete yourself. IdeaLine sends at most one email per person every ten minutes for the same project, so a burst of ticks does not flood your inbox.

Client approvals are always emailed#

This setting does not control client approvals. When a client approves from a shared link, IdeaLine always emails the person who shared the link, the project assignee, and your workspace owners and admins, even if they muted other notifications. Other client responses use your normal notification settings.

Good to know

Emails never include a client’s private details. They name the project and link you back to the app. If you do not see the email, see Fix client review and shared link problems.
