Add, link and resolve feedback pins

Pin what needs attention, tie it to a task, turn it into a subtask and mark it addressed.

2 min read

Pins are feedback attached to a live source. Depending on the source, a pin marks a spot on a page or image, a moment in a video, or the whole design. Every pin has a note, can be linked to a project or one of its subtasks, and is open until someone marks it addressed.

Add a pin#

Writing a new pin.

Zoom in on each part

  1. The new pin. Shown with a plus until you save.
  2. What needs attention? Up to 1,000 characters.
  3. Linked task. The whole project or one of its subtasks. Files attached to several projects list them all.
  4. Show this pin to clients on review links. Only for people who can share links. See Let clients review live previews and pin feedback.
  5. Save pin. Choose Cancel to throw the pin away.
  1. Open the preview

Choose Preview & pins in the Repository, a project or an idea. Opening it from a project links new pins to that project for you.

  2. Choose Add a pin and click the spot

On Figma and Canva choose Add feedback. On videos choose Comment on this moment. For the whole page choose General note.

  3. Type what needs attention
  4. Choose a Linked task if you want

Pick the project, or one of its subtasks.

  5. Choose Save pin

The pin gets the next number. The people assigned to the linked project or subtask are told in their notification bell.

Work through pins#

The actions on a pin.

Zoom in on each part

  1. Number. Select it to show the pin on the preview. Website pins switch to their device size and scroll into view; video pins jump to their moment.
  2. Mark addressed. Turns the pin green and moves it to Addressed. Choose Reopen to bring it back.
  3. Linked task. Change which project or subtask the pin belongs to.
  4. Client sees it. Shows this team pin on review links for the project.
  5. Delete. Removes the pin after you confirm.
  • Make it a subtask. When a pin is linked to a whole project, this adds a new subtask with the pin’s note and links the pin to it.
  • Filters. Open, Addressed and All above the list, with counts.
  • Who wrote it. Each pin shows its author, the device size or moment, and when it was made. Client pins have a Client badge.
  • Up to date. The list refreshes while the viewer is open, and right away when a client sends a pin.
