Set up live media sources: Canva, Adobe Express and the pin bridge

Connect your Canva account, check Adobe Express, and add the optional pin bridge to password-protected staging sites.

2 min read

Most live sources need no setup: paste a link and go. This page in Settings, Calendar & integrations covers the few that have options.

Settings, Calendar & integrations, Live media sources.

Zoom in on each part

  1. Live media sources. Everything here is optional.
  2. Canva. Shows whether you are connected, with Connect Canva or Disconnect.
  3. Adobe Express. Shows whether creating designs inside IdeaLine is switched on.
  4. Pin bridge. A one-line script for staging pages behind a password or sign-in.
  5. Copy. Copies the pin bridge line.

Canva#

  1. Choose Connect Canva

You sign in to Canva and approve access, then come back to IdeaLine.

  2. Add designs from the Repository with Add a live source, Canva

The connection is yours alone, in this workspace. Choose Disconnect to remove it at any time. If Canva asks you to sign in again later, the button says Reconnect. If the row says Canva app keys are needed, choosing from a list is not switched on for IdeaLine yet; smart embed links still work.

Adobe Express#

When this row says Set up, everyone can create and edit designs with Adobe Express in the Repository. If it says share links work now, creating inside IdeaLine is not switched on yet. Contact support if you need it.

Pin bridge for password-protected staging pages (optional)#

Most staging sites need nothing. IdeaLine opens the page itself, so pins go anywhere at every device size. Pages behind a password or sign-in are shown as the live site instead, and there pins stay on the first screen. To pin anywhere on those pages too:

  1. Choose Copy to copy the line
  2. Paste it just before </body> on the staging site

Webflow: Site settings, Custom code, Footer code (needs a paid site plan). WordPress: a header and footer plugin, or your theme’s footer.

  3. Publish the staging site
Good to know

The pin bridge only talks to IdeaLine, and only reports the page address and how far it is scrolled. It does nothing unless the page is shown inside IdeaLine. Leave it off your production site.
